Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes. We offer both in-person appointments at our San Diego office and secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth for patients throughout California. Both options are available for new and established patients.

How long is the initial evaluation?

Your first appointment is 60 minutes. This allows us to conduct a thorough psychiatric assessment, review your history, and begin developing a personalized treatment plan.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please have a list of your current medications (including dosages), any relevant medical or psychiatric records, your insurance card if applicable, and a list of questions or concerns you'd like to discuss.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?

Prescribing decisions are made on an individual, clinical basis following a comprehensive evaluation. We follow all applicable state and federal regulations regarding controlled substance prescribing.

What ages do you treat?

We currently treat adults ages 18 and older.

How soon can I be seen?

Availability varies. After submitting your request, we'll contact you within 1–2 business days to discuss scheduling. We do our best to accommodate new patients in a timely manner.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

Do you provide therapy?

Our focus is psychiatric evaluation and medication management. While we incorporate supportive therapeutic techniques and coping strategies into our appointments, we do not provide ongoing psychotherapy. We are happy to coordinate with your therapist or provide referrals as needed.
